Nissan revealed its exciting new Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept – a high-performance exploration, development and demonstration project of how the all-electric Nissan Ariya road car powertrain could be used in a bespoke single seater racing car chassis.The concept was presented at the Nissan Futures event by Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan senior vice president for global design, and Juan Manuel Hoyos, Nissan global marketing divisional general manager for brand and engagement.Design cues from the all-new Nissan Ariya all-electric SUV can be seen across the Ariya Single Seater Concept. At the front of the vehicle is the electrified and illuminated ""V"" motion, familiar from Nissan's current road car design language. At the side view, inspiration has been taken from the Ariya's fluid and efficient surfaces, exaggerated to a maximum in carbon fiber. Overall, the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept describes a form that, as with the Ariya, looks like it was shaped by the air itself.Nissan's participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship also played a key role in inspiring the Nissan Ariya Single Seater Concept. Nissan races in the all-electric world championship to bring the excitement and fun of zero-emission electric vehicles to a global audience, and to be at the cutting edge of EV research and design.

Powerful downforce, an advanced form of Nissan's e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology, and light-weight body featuring high-strength carbon promise enhanced cornering and exceptional handling on circuits and winding roads.The exterior design, with its wide and planted proportions, is a blend of sleek curves merging seamlessly with bold geometry that reflects the performance underneath. Incorporated throughout the design are elements, such as on the front and rear lamps, that pay homage to Nissan's high-performance cars.The exterior achieves high aerodynamic performance, which was developed together with the NISMO racing team, generating powerful downforce. The two-tiered aerodynamic structure under the front hood provides both strong downforce and high cooling performance. Meanwhile, the dual-level* rear diffuser optimally controls airflow. The front canards, front fender flip and both ends of the rear wing feature unique active aero functionality, while a newly developed plasma actuator suppresses air detachment to maximize grip and minimize inner-wheel lift during cornering. The lightweight forged carbon wheels aid aerodynamics and brake cooling.

The drive concept specially developed for the electrified Nissan models, which uses electric motors on each axle, guarantees safe and reassuring driving behavior in every situation.Whether at the dawn of spring in the Alps, in the hot summer through southern Europe, on windy and leaf-covered roads in English autumn or through the slippery and freezing winter landscape of Bavaria: Nissan e-4ORCE technology masters all seasons with flying colors.Even the toughest conditions are no problem for the all-wheel drive offered for the electrified X-Trail and the all-electric Ariya: Nissan has conquered the snowy mountains in the Pyrenees and completed laps on the world's highest permanent racetrack in Andorra at 2,400 meters - impressive proof of the excellent handling and maximum control that the e-4ORCE offers even under extreme winter conditions.In order to guarantee safety and driving pleasure in everyday life, the Nissan engineers have concentrated on three core elements during development: the management of the electric motors, the all-wheel drives and chassis control technologies. The use of two electric motors eliminates the cardan shaft that is necessary with conventional mechanical all-wheel drive systems. A differential is also superfluous. This results in new creative freedom and more space in the interior.
