Scene outside Mar-a-lago, Donald Trump's private Florida mansion, as the former US president is expected to launch a new White House bid Tuesday, even as a growing number of his hardcore supporters chalked up losses in last week's midterms. The 76-year-old billionaire, whose 2016 win shocked America and the world, has summoned the press to his Florida mansion for a "very big announcement" at 9:00 pm Tuesday (0200 GMT Wednesday). IMAGES
$600 stimulus checks may be direct deposited as early as Tuesday night. This news comes from US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, says Business Insider. The $600 is part of the $900 billion coronavirus relief package signed by President Trump. However, the checks were deemed meager by most Democrats and the president himself. The money will hopefully provide a needed boost to the economy slammed by the pandemic. The checks may also prove not to be the last round of economic assistance.
On Wednesday, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters how long he thinks it will take for the COVID vaccine to make a difference. Cuomo says it will take between six and nine months for the coronavirus vaccine to get widespread enough to make a difference. "It's a foot race over a six to nine month period," Cuomo said of the vaccine. According to Business Insider Dr. Anthony Fauci said "close to 80, 85%" of the public needs to get vaccinated before life returns to some semblance of normal."

Chris Christie Former Governor of the State of New Jersey Friday, the Supreme Court declined to hear the GOP-backed lawsuit brought by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton due to lack of standing. In addition to Paxton, 17 state attorneys general and 126 Congressional Republicans had signed an amicus brief backing the lawsuit. "The reason the Supreme Court is not taking this is not because of a lack of courage. It's for the same reason that every court has thrown this out. It's a lack of evidence and a lack of any type of legal theory that makes any sense."
