Tegucigalpa (Honduras), 25 Mar, EFE, (Camera: Uriel Gudiel).- The Honduran government began delivering 800,000 food rations on Wednesday in a house-to-house campaign to help 3.2 million poor people affected by the quarantine measures set up to try and stop the spread coronavirus, which has 36 positive cases. The food delivery began in Tegucigalpa, the country's capital, and is being carried out by the military and elements of the Honduran National Police, with support from churches and members of civil society. The first self-driving delivery robot roamed the streets of Austin during the city's SXSW festival, on Monday. The robot, produced by former Skype founders Starship, can deliver food, groceries and small packages for as little as $1 within a 1 mile radius. The six-wheeled robot is able to deliver items up to 3 miles over a period of up to 30 minutes while users are able to follow the robot's route via the smartphone app. The inventors feel confident that the robot's movements are safe for pedestrians and traffic. The delivery robot is already operational in over 60 cities in 5 different countries and its models have already traveled a combined 20,000 miles.
