Supporters of Julian Assange arrive outside 10 Downing Street to call for his release after a UK court hearing over whether to grant the WikiLeaks founder a fresh appeal against his extradition to the United States to face espionage charges concluded in London. Washington indicted Assange multiple times between 2018 and 2020 over Wikileaks's publication of hundreds of thousands of secret military and diplomatic files on the US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thousands take part in a rally in Trafalgar Square in support of Palestinians and an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas War, with many holding "Free Palestine" placards whilst chanting "From the river to the sea Palestine shall be free". London has seen large demonstrations on three successive weekends since Hamas gunmen on October 7 killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians, according to Israeli officials.
