Several hundred pro-government supporters gather close to Komarovsky Market in Minsk chanting "Belarus without Tilhanovskaya" and 'Za Batku' (EN: "For Daddy") in support of President Alexander Lukashenko. The demonstration takes place during the seventeenth consecutive opposition rally on Independence Square. Demonstrators have daily flooded the streets of the former Soviet country demanding the resignation of authoritarian leader Lukashenko since he claimed a sixth term in disputed elections on August 9. Pro-Israeli demonstrators gather outside the BBC headquarters in London, decrying the violence committed against the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The rally comes as the Israel-Hamas war nears its fourth month after beginning on October 7, 2023, when a deadly Hamas attack resulted in the deaths of about 1,160 people, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli data. Some 250 people were also taken hostage during the attack, with 132 remaining in Gaza.
