More than a thousand Thai pro-democracy protesters rally in the capital Bangkok Friday, with more expected to join. Thailand has for months been rocked by youth-led protests demanding a new constitution, reform of the untouchable monarchy, and for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha to resign. IMAGES

The location of the protest was changed from the Crown Property Bureau HQ to avoid possible clashes with a rival ultra royalist rally. Thousands of pro-democracy protesters gather in Central district Hong Kong for a rally themed "2020 Karma to Commies Universal Siege on Communists". Hong Kong's protests were sparked by a now abandoned plan to allow criminal extradition to the mainland, where the opaque court system is beholden to the communist party. It has since morphed into a wider anti-government movement. IMAGES
