The all-new SEAT Leon - Powertrains

Description

The all-new SEAT Leon is the latest vehicle to be designed and developed at SEAT's facilities in Martorell, with production also taking place on the site. The Leon has been one of the core pillars in the brand's product range accumulating more than 2.2 million sales since its introduction in 1999. The fourth-generation SEAT Leon is designed to take the vehicle to a new level offering even greater levels of dynamism, efficiency, safety and appeal. The market for compact vehicles is becoming increasingly competitive as global trends change the way vehicles are perceived and external pressures increase, but SEAT is meeting these aspects head on with the all-new Leon. The vehicle brings a strong design evolution, with an exterior and interior language that gives stronger character to the vehicle, helped in no small part by its revised dimensions, overall proportions, its more determined face and a fresh appraoch to lighting technology - both inside and outside. And as we enter an even more connected world, the next-generation SEAT Leon gives the consumer greater opportunity to take their digital lives with them into the vehicle, and also when they're out of the car. The all-new SEAT Leon is the brand's first fully connected vehicle, offering connectivity with Full Link - Android Auto and also wireless access to Apple's CarPlay - and, online infotainment and will offer in-car apps in the near future that expand and improve the customer's driving experience. Once out of the vehicle, users can access their vehicle's data remotely and also manage the charging process and control the air conditioning remotely (in the case of the plug-in hybrid version).

Each of its four generations has been ahead of its time, incorporating the most cutting-edge technology of the moment in a process of constant updating. “The Leon has always been a benchmark, not only in SEAT, but in the compact segment as well. It has always incorporated the most efficient and powerful light sources to guarantee the safest night-time driving” explains Magnolia Paredes, head of Electronic Development and Validation in SEAT’s Lighting Department. • New SEAT Leon e-HYBRID Design in Magnetic Tech

A breath of fresh air for the compact hybrid vehicle segment: the new SEAT Leon e-HYBRID is now available. The drive of the Spanish compact takes over the combination of a highly efficient gasoline internal combustion engine and a powerful electric motor. The new SEAT Leon e-HYBRID can travel up to 72 kilometers purely electrically and can even be recharged from a standard 230-volt socket. Taking the current e-mobility premium into account, prices start at 27,085 euros.More and more buyers are deliberately choosing a vehicle with a hybrid drive. With good reason: while the vehicle is quietly driven around the city with no local emissions and with no local emissions, both engines together become a real powerhouse at higher speeds or when overtaking maneuvers: in the SEAT Leon e-HYBRID, they jointly produce up to 150 kW ( 204 PS), which accelerate the vehicle from standstill to 100 km / h and further up to 220 km / h in 7.4 seconds. A 6-speed dual clutch transmission ensures a high level of comfort and efficient propulsion.
