Drone footage from Belluno in the Veneto region of northern Italy shows the extent of damage caused by the storms sweeping the country, flattening huge areas of trees covering the mountains in the Dolomites range. IMAGES
Four bakers working the overnight shift were trapped inside the El Bolillo bakery for two days due to severe floods brought on by Hurricane Harvey when it struck the southeastern coast of Texas. During that time, the bakers worked non-stop to produce thousands of baked goods for the storm's victims, using four thousand pounds of flour to bake from Saturday all they way until Monday afternoon. The police picked up the loaves and delivered them to Hurricane Harvey victims.
Volunteers helped residents of Houston's flooded Kingwood neighbourhood and their pets to safety as waters continue to rise. Due to the lack of police and fire department boats, some civilians used their personal boats to rescue fellow residents to help them leave the Kingwood neighbourhood, which is reportedly one of the most affected neighbourhoods in the area.
