The Charlie Chaplin Manoir and its 14-hectare park, nested between a lake and mountains in the heart of the Vaud Riviera, is preparing to reawaken from its slumber. The museum developers are working hard to return it to its former glory while preserving the intimate, authentic home, with its family atmosphere and the evocation of gatherings with stars and celebrities from around the world. The construction and renovation works have already begun. The site, that shall opened in Spring 2016, will offer a unique concept marrying culture and entertainment for those seeking a profound experience of discernment and variety, housed with : the Manor-house, beckoning visitors to enter the very private world of Charlie Chaplin the man; the outbuildings converted into exhibit halls dedicated to the humorous and moving works of the artist and filmmaker and the heyday of silent movies; an outdoor stage providing the setting for an annual line-up of cinematic or cultural activities and festivals; a boutique and dining areas and vantage points nestled among the luxuriant garden-park and pathways that offer unparalleled views of the Swiss landscape; a prestigious VIP room for gatherings and receptions targeting business world and international organizations.
