Jada Pinkett Smith has confirmed she will not be attending the 2016 Oscars. On Monday, the nationally recognized holiday celebrating Martin Luther King Junior, Will Smith's wife announced, “Is it time that people of color recognize how much power, influence, that we have amassed, that we no longer need to ask to be invited anywhere?“ Several other industry heavyweights have announced plans to boycott the awards show, including director Spike Lee.
