The would-be challenger to Vladimir Putin shot to fame with promises to end the conflict in Ukraine and the previous week announced he had passed the 100,000 signature threshold to register. Chinese astronauts say goodbye before the launch of the Shenzhou-16 spacecraft, which will take off aboard a Long March 2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northwest China.
