"BMW Group Classic and the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este present rare treasures from all eras of automobile and motorcycle history under the motto of “Hollywood on the Lake” beside the shores of Lake Como between 25th and 27th May 2018. 51 automobiles and 30 motorcycles and sidecar combinations will feature at the world’s most exclusive and traditional beauty contest for historic vehicles. Additional award classes for Prototypes and Concept Cars create a bridge between the value of heritage and looking to the future. Proud owners and passionate fans of extraordinary classics on two, three and four wheels will gather together on the banks of Lake Como in Cernobbio, Northern Italy, from 25th to 27th May 2018. They will be celebrating the world’s most exclusive and traditional beauty contest for historic vehicles. At the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2018, 51 automobiles and 30 motorcycles and sidecar combinations from different eras will compete for the favour of the public and an international Jury of distinguished experts. The highpoints of the classic weekend organised jointly by BMW Group Classic and the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este include the public vehicle presentation in the parkland of Villa Erba, the Street Run by the motorcycle entrants taking part in the competition, special exhibitions and the award of the “Best of Show” on Sunday evening."

The ""Motociclette Competition"" is part of the ninth competition for the elegance of vintage vehicles on the shores of Lake Como. Four of the five prize categories have already been assigned to classic bikes, but more recordings are welcome. Between 24 and 26 May 2019, the most fascinating motorcycling classics will once again attract two-wheel fans from all over the world to Cernobbio, on Lake Como. Once again, a unique collection of vehicles of rare beauty, belonging to different eras, will meet at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2019 in the park of Villa Erba located on the shores of Lake Como. The Motociclette Competition is one of the attractions of the public event and contributes to the distinctive character of the show which showcases rare models of vintage vehicles. For the ninth time this category will become part of the exclusive competition of elegance of vintage vehicles that this year will celebrate its 90th anniversary."
At this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, BMW Motorrad introduces a new concept. Dubbed Concept 9cento (pronounced ‘nove cento’), the experimental motorcycle presents a smart concept for the future, with a combination of sportiness and performance, and touring capabilities. The BMW Motorrad Concept 9cento features basic sporty configuration with lots of volume near the front wheel and a short high rear promises riding fun and agile handling. The striking styling of the fairing, fuel tank and frame further highlights the focus on the direction of travel. Here, the three-dimensional modelling of the fuel tank area especially comes into its own as a result of the paint finish with reflective chrome effect. The hovering side panel is painted in Pure Metal Silver. On all aluminum parts such as the central tank cover, the rear carrier and the footrest holder, the milling is directed towards the front wheel. This finely grooved surface structure is only apparent on close inspection and has the effect of a topographical elevation relief.

The grounds and parkland offer guests and visitors the opportunity to admire some 50 historic cars built between the 1920s and 1980s. The various classes are organised by different categories. From Friday 25th May to Sunday 27th May 2018, the Grand Hotel Villa d’Este and Villa Erba will be the exclusive and unique setting for this traditional event where guests will be privileged to admire the finest historic cars and motorcycles of their eras.
