Christian Meunier, President, INFINITI describes the all-wheel drive QX Inspiration as the beginning of a new generation of INFINITI cars and establishes a direct blueprint for the brand’s first electric vehicle. Based on a new, dedicated electric vehicle architecture and inspired by INFINITI’s Japanese DNA, the SUV concept previews a product portfolio which will offer high performance, ultra-low emissions, and range confidence.The new concept draws on the Japanese spatial concept of ‘Ma’, demonstrating how open spaces between lines create tension and builds anticipation.The development of new electrified vehicle platforms enables the creation of spacious, lounge-like interiors influenced by ‘omotenashi’, the Japanese approach to hospitality. The interior is hand-crafted using traditional techniques and a choice of materials inspired by a subtle Japanese sensuality. Providing a seamlessly enabling and instinctive experience, the cabin incorporates technologies to create a welcoming environment, while assisting drivers and connecting occupants to the world around them.

"As with the exterior, the design of the Infiniti QX50 interior deliberately articulates a sense of advanced human artistry. There is also a strong focus on space and functionality, with innovative packaging creating ideal roominess and flexibility. Utilizing the advantages of the QX50's all-new platform, efficient packaging maximizes the amount of interior space. The body is designed to accommodate both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive drivetrains without impacting cabin space. The enhanced interior space is made more flexible with its sliding rear bench. The cargo area is 39.0 inches deep with the rear bench all the way back - increasing to 44.9 inches with the seats moved forward. The trunk's volume is 31.1 cubic feet, with the rear seats in their rear-most position, expanding to 64.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down."
The Q Inspiration cabin follows a minimalist approach, with a concise and clean interior design enveloping the driver and passengers in a serene and comfortable environment. Advanced powertrains have liberated INFINITI’s designers from the constraints of traditional powertrain architecture to realize a spacious interior. Modern technology and craftsmanship merge inside the cabin, presented in a way that enables, rather than distracts, the driver.
