During a state visit to Sweden, French President Emmnauel Macron urges Europe to take 'bold' decisions to support Ukraine, regardless of what the US decides. While the US has sent tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine since the Russian invasion in February 2022, Republican lawmakers are growing reluctant to keep supporting Kyiv, saying it lacks a clear end game as the fighting grinds on. Algeria has helped Europe diversify its energy supplies by pumping more gas to Italy, French President Emmanuel Macron says during a visit to Africa's top gas exporter. Dismissing suggestions that Italy and France were "in competition" for Algerian gas, Macron welcoms a deal Algeria signed last month to pump more gas to Italy. "We have a very solid and strong growth now everywhere in Europe", says France's Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire at a press conference in Paris with his German counterpart Christian Lindner.
