Awards Season is heating up with Tuesday marking the release of the nominations for the 91st Academy Awards. Fans reflexes are on fire after the love shown for the superhero flick Black Panther, which received a grand total of seven nominations. Comicbook.com reports everyone is celebrating, especially Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman who took to Twitter to give his shoutouts. Boseman tweets, "We just made history. 7 nominations, including BEST PICTURE. What an incredible honor. Thank you to @TheAcademy and congratulations to my entire @theblackpanther family!"

  • Marvel Will Not Recast Black Panther

    Black Panther's legacy will continue, but not with someone new in the role. On Thursday, Marvel Studios said it will not recast the character played by the late Chadwick Boseman. To honor the legacy that Chad helped us build, we want to continue to explore the world of Wakanda." The sequel is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2022, and will be written and directed by Ryan Coogler. CNN reports that Boseman died in August at age 43, after fighting a private battle with colon cancer. "Black Panther" made more than $1 billion globally in less than a month after its 2018 release.

  • MTV Gives Chadwick Boseman Posthumous Award

    The late Chadwick Boseman was honored at Sunday's MTV Movie & TV Awards. The "Black Panther" actor died in August. He posthumously received the Hero for the Ages award, presented by fellow Marvel stars Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr. Boseman was only 43 when he died after a private battle with colon cancer. CNN reports that he starred in numerous films and played many iconic characters. He played Jackie Robinson in the film "42," James Brown in "Get On Up" and Thurgood Marshall in "Marshall."

  • Disney Honors Chadwick Boseman's Birthday

    According to CNN, Disney honored the late actor, Chadwick Boseman on Sunday. Sunday, November 29, was his birthday. He would have turned 44. Boseman died in August after private battle with colon cancer. He won the hearts of fans after starring as King T'Challa in Black Panther, a Marvel superhero franchise. On Saturday, Disney chairman Bob Iger told fans on Twitter that Disney would honor Chadwick on his birthday, in a way that was fit for a Marvel king. He tweeted, "To all fans of #BlackPanther: watch the film on #DisneyPlus late tonight, for a special tribute to someone that was and will always be near and dear to our hearts." Disney created a new opening credit, for the "Black Panther" film, which is now streaming on Disney+. The over 30 second tribute shows clips of Boseman. It was also shared on Marvel Studios' official Twitter account.
