Hyundai Motor is launching comprehensive connectivity and design enhancements for the new IONIQ, the latest edition of its revolutionary eco-friendly model. As of its launch in 2016, IONIQ was the world's first car planned from the start to offer three electrified powertrains - hybrid, plug-in hybrid and full electric. The Hyundai IONIQ is now already upgrading its offer, with added technological features and a refreshed look. Hyundai keeps leading the way in future mobility, as many other manufacturers are still planning or just launching their first eco-mobility vehicles.The new IONIQ features advanced Blue Link connectivity services, SmartSense active safety and driving assistance systems and state-of-the-art infotainment features. In addition, both the exterior and interior design receive updates, while drivers of the new IONIQ Electric can also enjoy 36% added energy capacity thanks to an upgraded 38.3-kWh battery.

  • Hyundai IONIQ 5 N to Compete for Electric Production SUV/Crossover Record at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

    With a new generation of owners now getting behind the wheel of the IONIQ 5 N, Hyundai will spark even more excitement at the 102nd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) on June 23, 2024. Two 641-horsepower IONIQ 5 N cars will go after the Electric Production SUV/Crossover record as part of a four-car effort.The drivers of the IONIQ 5 N vehicles going for the Electric Production SUV/Crossover record are Paul Dallenbach and Ron Zaras. Dallenbach is an eleven-time PPIHC winner and set an overall record in 1993. Zaras is a PPIHC rookie and the newest team member. Zaras, a media personality and former Hoonigan executive, was recently chosen to showcase the story of a motorsport enthusiast preparing for this massive challenge of competing at Pikes Peak.In addition, Hyundai will debut a modified specification IONIQ 5 N to compete at PPIHC prior to the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring on May 30. Two of these additional IONIQ 5 N models will be driven by Dani Sordo and Robin Shute. Shute is a four-time overall winner and King of the Mountain title holder at Pikes Peak. Sordo is a Spanish World Rally Championship driver for Hyundai Motorsport.

    Hyundai Motor Company revealed details about the extreme winter testing of IONIQ 5 N, the first high-performance, mass-production all-electric N brand model at the Hyundai Mobis Proving ground in Arjeplog, Sweden. Given its position adjacent to the Arctic Circle, the Hyundai Mobis Proving ground in Arjeplog offers everything an automaker needs for comprehensive winter testing, such as low-grip coefficient icy surfaces and deep sub-zero temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F).     Since its introduction in 2020, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 has won many admirers thanks to its attractive design, range of up to 298 miles and the ability to rapid recharge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.As a result, it’s picked up a string of prestigious awards. In July last year, it was named Car of the Year in the 2021 Auto Express New Car Awards, and also triumphed in the Mid-Size Company Car, Premium Electric Car and Design categories.There was further success in October when it was crowned Best Designed Car of the Year in the 2021 News UK Motor Awards, and also awarded Motoring Innovation of the Year for its relaxation seats and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.
