An association, AICV, is helping people how to ride bikes, or how to get reacquainted with them, following the end of France's lockdown period.
France’s second-biggest city inaugurates a new riverside promenade on the river Saône. The contemporary art trail "River Movie" stretches over 25 kilometres, with 21 site-specific works by internationally renowned artists - Elmsgreen and Dragset, Jean-Michel Othoniel and Pascale Marthine Tayou to name but a few.
Lined by magnificent French castles frozen in time, the Loire is nicknamed the royal river, with its breathtaking views of these jewels of Renaissance architecture. But the river is also a place to escape, to get back to nature and to discover a lesser-known heritage. In Chaumont-sur-Loire, an association is bringing traditional flat-bottomed boats back to life, in order to offer tourists an exceptional view of the region's castles. Meanwhile, thanks to the development of a network of cycling paths, the most athletic visitors can now choose to admire the beauties of the royal river by bike.
California's 11th atmospheric river left the storm-soaked state with a bang Wednesday, delivering parting shots of flooded roadways, landslides and toppled trees to the southern part of the state as residents struggled to clean up before the next round of winter arrives.
As the Nairobi River snakes across the Kenyan capital it is exposed to settlements with no sewage systems, is used as a dumping site for industrial waste and is chock full of dangerous pollutants and heavy metals.. The government has said that it is committed to a clean-up but has given no deadline or budget, and the commission has yet to meet.
