Belgian court postpones arrest warrant case against Puigdemont

Brussels, Dec 16 (EFE), (Camera: Leo Rodríguez).- The Belgian judge who will take a decision on the arrest warrant against former president of the Catalonia regional government, Carles Puigdemont, fled to Belgium, on Monday postponed the hearing until next 3 February 3.FOOTAGE OF CARLES PUIGDEMONT, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE CATALONIA REGIONAL GOVERNMENT, WHEN HE LEFT THE BELGIAN COURT ON MONDAY. SOUNDBITES OF-SIMON BEKAERT, LAWYER REPRESENTING CARLES PUIGDEMONT:“The hearing has been postponed initially until the 3 February waiting for resolutions by the European Court of Justice.” -CARLES PUIGDEMONT, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE CATALONIA REGIONAL GOVERNMENT:“The Belgian court has considered that, without any opposition either the attorney, that the hearing will take place on February 3. The issue continues, we always respect decisions taken by the judges and we are are their entire disposal for whatever they need.”
