  • Court condemns Omar al Bashir to two years confinement for corruption

    Khartoum (Sudan), Dec 14, EFE/EPA, (Camera: Morwan Ali).- A court in Khartoum on Saturday sentenced former Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to two years' confinement in a reformatory centre for the crime of illicit enrichment and currency trafficking in the first conviction against the dictator since his overthrow last April. The court found 75-year-old Al Bashir guilty of illegal currency possession after authorities seized more than 7 million euros in a raid on his residence days after he lost power.FOOTAGE INSIDE THE COURT ROOM.
