Ski station locals, employees protest France's closure of pistes

Description

At the behest of mayors from the Haute-Tarentaise valley, a hundred or so people gather in Bourg-Saint-Maurice - a winter ski hot spot in France - to protest the closure of ski lifts over the festive season, a decision announced by the French government last week in a bid to control the spread of coronavirus. The lift closures mean no tourists, a heavy blow for the economy of thousands who depend on them coming over the winter season. IMAGES
