The EU's 27 leaders urge Israel not to launch a major ground offensive in the southernmost Gazan city of Rafah, European Council President Charles Michel says. French serial killer Michel Fourniret's widow, Monique Olivier, arrives in the courtroom's dock to stand trial for complicity in the abduction and murder of little girl and two young women in northern France. Spanning three decades, the murders included a 9 year old girl on her way back from school, a mentally disabled 18 year old and a 20 year olf British woman whose body was found in a river in 1990. Fourniret, known as the "ogre of the Ardennes", was charged with abduction, rape and murder in the cases but died in 2021, aged 79, before he could be brought to trial. IMAGES
