  • Spanish nurses extract additional dose from Pfizer vaccine

Valencia, Spain, Feb 16, (EFE), (Camera: EFE).- Two Spanish nurses have come up with a way to extract an extra seventh dose from six-dose vials of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine by removing the remnants of the solution with specialized equipment. FOOTAGE INCLUDES INTERVIEW WITH ANA SOLA MARTIN FROM THE CLINIC HOSPITAL IN VALENCIATRANSLATION:Due to the fact that there was also a shortage in the distribution of vaccines and seeing that everyone was pressing for that second dose in the nursing homes, we did the mathematical calculation, there are times in medicine when the numbers are not true because it is not all 2 + 2 equals 4, but in this case we wanted to do the test with different materials in simulation tests and that was the process until we managed to get it, of course. You can say that who does these things is nurses and so we did it this way, we were playing with different materials, avoiding as the data sheet says the dead spaces of needles and syringes and we saw that it was very important to communicate to the data sheet, and also that you had to use a specific material in this regard so we could not give something with a larger caliber because if not we lose many drops and those drops are as I say is liquid gold that right now is very scarce.
