Eating disorders on the rise in France amid Covid-19 pandemic

As some people cope with the anxiety and uncertainty generated by the Covid-19 pandemic by focusing on diet and exercise, eating disorders are on the rise. In France, the influx of cases is pushing already stretched resources to their limits. France's association for anorexia and bulimia, the Fédération Française Anorexie Boulimie (FFAB), describes the situation as "critical". Calls to its helpline were up 30 percent last year. FRANCE 24's Ellen Gainsford met with eating disorder sufferers and specialists to find out more.
