The United States renews its call on Israel not to attack the packed Gaza city of Rafah as it reviews a response from Hamas to a ceasefire proposal. "We cannot support an operation in Rafah as it is currently envisioned," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller tells reporters. SOUNDBITE
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expresses serious concern over reports that Israel is using artificial intelligence to identify targets in Gaza. Guterres tells reporters that he is "deeply troubled by reports that the Israeli military's bombing campaign includes Artificial Intelligence as a tool in the identification of targets, particularly in densely populated residential areas, resulting in a high level of civilian casualties."
