Thomson retires from 2020 Vendée Globe after rudder damage

Cape Town (South Africa), Dec 4 (EFE / EPA), (Camera: Nic Bothma).-British sailor Alex Thomson withdrew from the Vendée Globe 2020 race in which he was one of the favourites after his yacht suffered rudder damage. The race consisted of completing 24,000 nautical miles (40,075 kilometres) alone, without stopovers or assistance.
