To celebrate International Women's Day in Przemysl, a Franciscan friar is offering flowers to Ukrainian women who are fleeing the war. More than two million refugees have fled Ukraine since Moscow's invasion.
Images show refugees arriving in the south-eastern Polish city of Przemyśl near the Ukrainian border where members of the Polish authorities and volunteers are waiting to greet them. With 756,303 refugees in Poland according to the UNHCR, the country is hosting by far the largest number of refugees fleeing Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion. IMAGES
With financial support from the NGO World Central Kitchen, Polish restaurateurs are cooking and serving free hot meals to Ukrainian refugees who are arriving in Poland to escape the war. Chef Maciej Labunski's restaurant, which personally serves the meals at the Przemysl train station, has already provided tens of thousands of meals in the past month.
