A meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization kicks off in Brussels, with the US-led defence alliance's foreign ministers set to discuss NATO's ongoing backing for Ukraine against Russia amid doubts over US support and a bloody stalemate on the ground. There are fears that a lack of adequate support from the West -- at a time that it is distracted by the Israel-Hamas war -- could end up forcing Kyiv to seek a compromise with Russian President Vladimir Putin from a position of weakness. The European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has announced that all of the bloc's foreign ministers were for the first time meeting beyond its borders, in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. "We are convening a historic meeting of EU Foreign Ministers here in Ukraine, candidate country and future member of the EU. Images show the aftermath of a Russian attack on the Darnytskyi district of Ukraine's capital Kyiv. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram that according to medics, seven people were injured in that district. Ukrainian military authorities said Russia launched cruise missile attacks on Kyiv overnight. The falling debris from shot-down missiles resulted in seven people injured and damage to buildings.
