A UN report on climate change shows that the window to meet the goal of 1.5-degree Celsius global warming limit is narrowing, a senior UN climate official says. The report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change "sets out in very, very stark terms where we are, but it also signals that there is still an opportunity with significant global effort to meet that 1.5 goal," says Simon Stiell, head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The European continent is warming at the fastest pace of any region in the world. Its rate is double the global average, according to a report by the UN's World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and the European climate change service Copernicus shows.
