Lamborghini 350 GT Design Preview

Description

For Lamborghini, 2022 is the year of the V12, its legendary 12-cylinder engine that has powered iconic models for almost 60 years of history and became a symbol of technological innovation, vision, and engineering expertise: the foundations of Lamborghini’s DNA.Before entering the hybridization phase in 2023 with the advent of the first series-production model, Lamborghini is paying tribute to its most memorable engine in a retrospective account of the cars that have featured it. The first ever Lamborghini to leave the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in 1964 was the 350 GT, more recently taken to the historic center of Bologna for an epic encounter with the latest V12 in the brand’s history, the Aventador Ultimae.

  • "Lamborghini & Design" Concorso d’Eleganza crowns the 1964 Lamborghini 350 GT

Thirty-six Lamborghinis produced between 1964 and 1991, as well as contemporary models, took part in the second edition of the “Lamborghini & Design” Concorso d’Eleganza. The event, organized by Lamborghini Polo Storico, was held from September 19 to 21 between Venice and Trieste, paying tribute to the creative genius of the great Italian architect Gae Aulenti (1927-2012), born close to Trieste and internationally renowned for representing Italian design and architecture around the world. On Friday, after starting off from Venice and covering around 200 kilometers, the cars arrived at Portopiccolo, near Trieste, where they were exhibited to the public in the three main seaside squares. On Saturday morning, the cars were judged by a select international jury: connoisseurs and enthusiasts of the Raging Bull brand. On Saturday afternoon, while the jury was deliberating ahead of the evening’s awards ceremony, the participants headed towards Trieste, where a huge crowd was waiting in Piazza Unità di Italia, literally invaded by the public, eager and happy to see an important part of Italian automotive history up close. The event continued on the streets of the historic Trieste-Opicina hill climb and, after entering Slovenia, it ended with the return to Portopiccolo after covering 62 kilometers of popular roads, perfect for providing Lamborghini owners with a pleasurable driving experience.

  • Lamborghini Urus SE Design Preview

The Urus SE offers an unparalleled driving experience also thanks to the plug-in hybrid system, which helps to improve the vehicle’s performance and dynamics on any surface and in any condition: more torque and power at any rpm is provided by way of innovative technical solutions such as the introduction of the electric torque vectoring system between the two axles, and the electronic rear differential. The twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine has been re-engineered to work in optimal synergy with the electric powertrain. It develops 620 CV of power (456 kW) and 800 Nm of driving torque; the combustion unit is combined with an electric powertrain delivering 192 CV (141 kW) and 483 Nm of torque. In delivering maximum output the main focus has been on the calibration strategy between ICE and e-motor, reaching a total output of 800 CV to ensure an optimal power curve in every driving mode and on every surface. A 25.9-kWh lithium-ion battery is situated below the load floor and above the electronically-controlled rear differential. The permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor located inside the 8-speed automatic transmission can act as a boost for the V8 combustion engine but also as a traction element, making the Urus SE a 100% electric 4WD vehicle capable of traveling more than 60 km in EV mode.Debuting on the Urus SE is the new centrally-located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system with an electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch, which distributes driving torque variably and continuously between the front and rear axles. The transfer case works in synergy with the new electronic limited-slip differential installed on the rear axle, giving the vehicle “on demand” oversteering to convey the feel of a purebred super sports car.
