In both the side barrier and the more severe side pole tests, maximum points were scored, with good protection of all critical body regions. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. A geometric assessment of the rear seats also indicated good whiplash protection. The standard-fit autonomous emergency braking system scored full points in tests of its functionality at the low speeds at which many whiplash injuries occur, with collisions avoided at all test speeds and overlaps.

At least one person was killed and eight injured when a car drove into a group of people in central Berlin, the fire service says. A police spokeswoman said the driver was detained at the scene after the car ploughed into a shop front along busy shopping street Tauentzienstrasse. It is not clear whether the crash was intentional, police said.
