Ukraine's ambassador to the United Nations denounces Russia as a "terrorist state" during an urgent General Assembly meeting to discuss Moscow's annexation of four Ukrainian regions. "Russia has proven once again, that this is a terrorist state that must be deterred in the strongest possible ways," says Sergiy Kyslytsya, speaking after Russia launched a deadly barrage of missile strikes at cities across Ukraine. In a virtual address to the UN Security Council, Ukraine's president called for an international tribunal to investigate Russia's "killing spree" and hold Moscow accountable.
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak calls on the leaders attending the Joint Expeditionary Force meeting in the Latvian capital, Riga, to deliver more "military aid to Ukraine". Sunak is speaking at the third JEF meeting, which brings together the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
