Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hails the United States' decision to allow Kyiv to use American-supplied weapons to strike in Russia, with some restrictions. The move is "some step forward" toward the defence of people in border villages, Zelensky tells reporters at a Ukrainian-Northern Europe security summit in Stockholm. SOUNDBITE
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warns his Nordic allies that "Russia is preparing for provocations in the Baltic region". Zelensky's visit to Stockholm comes days after Sweden pledged military aid of 13.3 billion kronor ($1.25 billion) to Ukraine, which has been struggling against a Russian ground offensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region. The White House confirms that a national security threat raised by US lawmakers involves Russia developing an anti-satellite weapon. "I can confirm that it is related to an anti-satellite capability that Russia developing," National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby tells reporters, adding however that there was "no immediate threat to anyone's safety."
