Israel's parliament takes another step to push forward a legal reform package that has sparked mass protests against the hard-right government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Lawmakers in a 3:00 am (0100 GMT) vote approve a bill in first reading that would, among other things, allow the Knesset to scrap Supreme Court rulings with a simple majority vote. IMAGES
Business Insider reports former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Sunday had sharp words for President Donald Trump's legal team. Christie told Martha Radditz on ABC's 'This Week' that the team's approach to overturning the election results was 'an absurdity.' It's an absurd idea to think that any state, or any number of states, no matter how good they are, can challenge another state's right to run the election as they see fit. In addition to Paxton, 17 state attorneys general and 126 Congressional Republicans had signed an amicus brief backing the lawsuit. "The reason the Supreme Court is not taking this is not because of a lack of courage. It's for the same reason that every court has thrown this out. It's a lack of evidence and a lack of any type of legal theory that makes any sense."
Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling is the state's voting systems manager. And according to Business Insider, the Republican has had more than enough of President Donald Trump and GOP senators. In a fiery press conference Tuesday, Sterling a Republican, urged them to 'stop inspiring potential acts of violence' against election workers. He said a young contractor with an election vendor, Dominion Voting Systems, has faced threats and harassment for completing basic tech tasks. Sterling tore into the president and local lawmakers for not showing any leadership and of being 'complicit' in the harassment of election workers. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu receives US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Jerusalem. Blinken reiterated US opposition to an Israeli assault on the crowded Gaza city of Rafah in talks with Netanyahu, who has vowed to press ahead, a US official said. IMAGES
