Plans for a controversial justice reform in Israel have been put on hold -- at least for now. That brings a tentative break to one of the biggest internal crises in Israeli history. After months of protests that brought hundreds of thouands to the streets -- AND criticism from within his own party, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally suspended his judicial overhaul -- at least until Parliament returns next month. The strike by the Histadrut umbrella group, which represents more than 700,000 workers in health, transit and banking, among many other fields, could paralyze large parts of Israel's economy, which is already on shaky ground, ratcheting up the pressure on Netanyahu to suspend the overhaul.
