Porsche - Elevated thinking

Description

For Steve Noujaim, a boyhood fascination with flight grew into an extraordinary career at the controls of upwards of 70 different aircraft. A modest but undeniable master of his high-altitude environment, Noujaim’s interest in the relationship between man and machine has also fostered a long-term love affair with Porsche. Today, the 61-year-old former fighter pilot combines his two passions, using a Cayenne to tow his beloved high-performance glider.

The already-high US inflation rate likely climbed even further last month, the White House warns, amid a spike in energy prices caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. "We expect March headline inflation to be extraordinarily elevated," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tells reporters ahead of the Tuesday release of the closely watched data on the consumer price index (CPI). • Thinking About Using A Weight Loss App? Here's What You Should Consider

Weight loss apps were one of the first apps to start selling when smartphones came on the market. Today, there are literally thousands of them available. However, they vary so much in quality, price, and focus that it can be difficult to pick the best one for you. Nutritionist Samantha Cassetty says the best apps support a variety of healthy foods, in balanced amounts, that are right for your needs. Free apps, like Lose It!, can help you track your food intake. However, Cassetty says they're unlikely to lead to any real, lasting weight loss. Instead, she suggests focusing on developing healthy habits, like regular exercise and increasing the number of fruits and vegetables in your diet. According to Business Insider, the apps Noom, Weight Watchers, My Fitness Pal, and the free MyNetDiary do a great job at helping you meet some or all of these goals.

  • Thinking Of Retiring Anywhere But Here? Consider This Good Advice

If life in the US is just getting a bit too much, retiring abroad can be a viable option. However, as Medicare isn't available overseas, it's critical to investigate the quality, variety, affordability, and availability of health care in your chosen location. Also, Business Insider reports it's best to first rent a home, not buy it. After all, you may love the city you're in, but a particular neighborhood might not work as well. According to Business Insider, if living abroad full-time is a bit daunting, consider taking long trips there, instead. After all, you can always come back--or try a different country. Finally, make a plan for the distant future. What are the options if you or your partner dies or becomes disabled? Or adorable grandchildren make their debut?

  • Shut Up And Listen: The Soft Skills You Need The Most To Get The Best Jobs

With so much emphasis on STEM in school curricula these days, it's easy to think that 'soft skills' are no longer needed for a successful, high-paying career. But according to Business Insider, not only are soft skills are still needed, they're also demanded by employers in some of the best jobs. Tied for third place, excellent speaking and reading comprehension skills are an absolute must for professions such as lawyer, physician's assistant, and treasurer. Second in demand is the soft skill of critical thinking. Lawyers need this in abundance, as do computer systems managers and financial controllers. Finally, learn to listen well. Not just staying silent while someone speaks, active listening is the number one soft skilled valued by employers overall.
