Thanks to exceptional snow conditions for the Whitsun weekend and the gradual lifting of health restrictions in France, the ski resort of La Clusaz reopens its lifts for two days.
French alpine resorts in the Haute-Savoie may be deprived of downhill skiing this season due to the ongoing lift closures but plenty of alternative activities are on offer in a bid to keep tourism going despite the virus. In Les Contamines-Montjoie, Héléna, Manon, Charles and their parents declare themselves delighted to "discover other sports and other ways of living in the mountains".
