During the first European large-scale test drive with the media, participants explored the rich and varied landscape of the Balearic island: a total of 120 journalists and content creators from 17 nations tested the sporty smart #3 on Mallorca’s roads. This was followed by more testing over the course of 2022, both at other BMW Group test facilities and in everyday driving in and around Munich as well as in the vicinity of BMW Group Plant Dingolfing. The task here was to continue refining the car’s chassis technology and acoustic properties under a wide variety of conditions, as well as honing the drive unit’s power delivery, in order to produce a well-resolved driving experience at all times.Here again, part of the development work was deliberately carried out during the colder months on icy and snowy roads in the Alpine foothills. This last winter, BMW i5 prototypes – now sporting less camouflage and near-production headlights – were regularly sent out for testing to verify the functionality and reliability of their powertrain and chassis control systems in extremely demanding road and weather conditions. The BMW engineers involved in the vehicle project were able to directly inspect the current state of development through testing in the BMW brand’s native Bavaria before it was time to return to endurance testing near the Arctic Circle in February 2023.

Following the successful launch of the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV, ŠKODA AUTO adds an even more emotional body variant to its first range of fully electric SUVs: the four-door ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV is characterized by a stylish, sloping rear. Its coefficient of aerodynamic drag (cd) of 0.247 is even lower than that of the already formidable ENYAQ iV, which makes the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV, when equipped with the largest battery, more efficient and allows you to travel more than 535 km in the WLTP cycle. You can choose between two battery sizes and three power variants with rear or all-wheel drive. As with the ENYAQ iV, the classic interior trim levels have been replaced by Design Selections. In typical ŠKODA style, the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV features a generously sized interior and a 570 l boot.
The concept of sporty driving pleasure in the premium midsize segment is being redefined and will soon be available to experience in the new BMW 4 Series Coupe. Following a series of exhaustive test drives held as part of the development process to prepare it for series production, the latest incarnation of the two-door model is now embarking on the final phase of dynamic testing. After having their driving qualities honed at the winter testing centre in Arjeplog, Sweden, at the BMW Group’s test centre in Miramas in France, on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife circuit and at various other race tracks, the prototypes are now returning to their roots: engineers will put the final touches to the chassis technology of the new BMW 4 Series Coupe on the motorways and country roads around the BMW Group’s Research and Innovation Centre (FIZ) in Munich.
