The next chapter of the Lexus Electrified Vision has arrived with the launch of the all-new RZ battery-electric SUV, the first Lexus BEV built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform.Following the successful launch of the first Lexus BEV - the UX 300e in late 2021 - the RZ brings Lexus a step closer in its aim of offering a fully-electrified range of Hybrid, PHEV and BEV luxury vehicles in Australia by 2030.The new electric powertrain with e-Axle electric motors and DIRECT4 all-wheel drive adds to the renowned Lexus elements of luxurious takumi craftsmanship and impeccable build quality.Lexus Australia Chief Executive John Pappas said the new RZ retains all the signature Lexus elements customers have come to appreciate, but now with zero exhaust emissions.The RZ launches in Australia with the choice of two grades, starting with the 450e Luxury variant from $123,000 plus on-road costs. The flagship 450e Sports Luxury asks $135,000.Both variants are powered by the same compact and efficient 71.4kWh lithium-ion battery, deploying 230kW of power and 435Nm of instant torque to all four wheels and a driving range of 470km.Instant torque and all-wheel traction allows the RZ to sprint from standstill to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 160km/h.All RZ grades come as standard with an 11kW on-board charger, which can recharge the vehicle in approximately 6.5 hours when connected to a three-phase power supply. Recharging to 80 per cent capacity cuts the waiting time to just 30 minutes when hooked up to a DC fast charger.

The LBX is the smallest model in the Lexus range and the luxury lifestyle brand’s first B-segment SUV, helping Lexus to expand its range to meet the needs of a diverse and growing customer base.The two-grade LBX range opens from $47,550 plus on-road costs for the LBX Luxury 2WD, providing strong value thanks to its highly specified standard equipment.Luxury grade is identifiable by 18-inch alloy wheels with a mixed dark grey and bright machined finish, LED headlamps with Adaptive High-beam System, rear spoiler and privacy glass, and a two-tone body finish including a black roof.Inside, the LBX Luxury has black NuLux7 upholstery for the seats, steering wheel, door and instrument panel trim, front and rear carpet floor mats, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control with remote function, Qi wireless phone charging pad, auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, smart entry & start and a powered tailgate.Multimedia connectivity is enabled by a 9.8-inch touchscreen display with satellite navigation, paired with a six-speaker Panasonic audio system compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Three front and two rear USB-C ports as well as front and rear 12V accessory sockets provide extra connectivity and charging options.The Lexus Safety System+ provides a comprehensive suite of safety features, which is designed to help provide protection for drivers, passengers, and other road users.Sports Luxury grade is differentiated from the outside by unique black 18-inch alloy wheels and a unique ornamentation film on the rear pillar which combines thin strips of gloss and non-gloss finish to create a stylish geometric expression.
The new RZ 450e is Lexus' first electric vehicle to be designed from the ground up. The model not only has a battery-electric drive instead of a conventional motor, but also fully exploits the potential of new technologies to increase performance and driving pleasure in equal measure, true to the ""Lexus Electrified"" philosophy. The vehicle was extensively tested and tuned on the racetrack at the Shimoyama Center in Japan, the future global headquarters of Lexus.First and foremost, the new RZ is a true Lexus – it has all the qualities of performance and craftsmanship that the brand is known for; with a special focus on driving pleasure with the Lexus Driving Signature. The company has used its extensive experience in electrification to combine the benefits of a battery electric model (BEV) with the refinement typical of the brand, creating a unique driving experience.Lexus is using the new E-Axle drives in the RZ for the first time: compact motor units at the front and rear that work together with the new Lexus DIRECT4 all-wheel drive. The new platform, specially developed for electric vehicles, offers excellent body rigidity, a low center of gravity and a long wheelbase - thus creating the conditions for precise handling characteristics and direct response. The optional ""One Motion Grip"" steer-by-wire system in combination with the innovative Yoke steering wheel will be introduced from 2025. This enables even simpler and more precise steering.The powerful lithium-ion battery unit is fully integrated into the chassis under the cab floor; their quality is closely controlled to ensure long-term performance.
The RX 500h Turbo combines elegance and power to maintain its leading position. Other electrified powertrains available are the RX 450h+, which incorporates Lexus' benchmark plug-in hybrid technology, and the RX 350h, which offers an efficient alternative to diesel or gasoline models.The new RX also incorporates a driver-focused “tazuna” cockpit, for more intuitive control of the vehicle, which in turn enhances the driving experience. Thanks to the new Lexus Link multimedia system, with the standard “Hey Lexus” on-board assistant, the 14-inch touchscreen and remote functions can be controlled via the Lexus Link app for smartphones.Drivers will also enjoy improved handling and response, thanks to the development of the GA-K platform, which offers excellent body rigidity and a low center of gravity. By optimizing SUV fundamentals such as inertia specifications, weight reduction and the engine, Lexus has created a more natural dialogue between vehicle and driver.
