Mahsa Amini's death: Filmmaker Mina Keshavarz on the long history of women's resistance in Iran

Description

As FRANCE 24 marks the one-year anniversary of the protest movement sparked by the death of Mahsa Jina Amini, we speak to documentary filmmaker Mina Keshavarz – one of the many Iranian artists who have been jailed for their work. Her 2020 film "The Art of Living in Danger" follows a group of lawyers and activists as they fight against domestic violence, shining a light on Iran's long history of women's resistance. Keshavarz says that while she knows that this movement didn't happen overnight, it has both surprised her and given her hope.
