Kathmandu, Apr 15 (EFE/EPA).- Thousands of Nepalese gathered Thursday to celebrate the Bisket Jatra festival despite the government's request of no gatherings of more than 25 persons due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bisket festival is celebrated to mark the Nepali New Year 2076, especially among the Newar communities in Bhaktapur. During the festival, devotees will carry a chariot of Hindu gods and goddesses and smear vermilion-color powder on each other's faces. Paju, Oct 1 (EFE/EPA).- Families Split by Korean War on Thursday marked the the annual Chuseok autumn harvest holiday with memorial service to the ancestors. South Korean separated families and their descendants visited Imjingak Park near the Demilitarized zone in Paju, where they prayed and presented offerings to their ancestors.Chuseok means "autumn eve" and runs from Sep. 30 to Oct. 2 this year. During this period, many South Koreans return to their family homes to share traditional food and pay homage to their ancestors.People also participate in festivities including dancing and traditional folk games to celebrate the change of seasons and a rich harvest.
