"As you all know, in the last nine days, we have effectively helped evacuate 57,000 people and that has continued to escalate," Psaki tells reporters during a press briefing at the White House. US State Department spokesman Ned Price says the United States is open to maintaining its diplomatic presence at Kabul's airport after a withdrawal deadline at the end of the month if conditions permit.
