Description

Ciudad Juárez (Mexico), Jul 9 (EFE) (Camera: Raúl Morales) .- Dozens of US war veterans of Mexican origin deported to the Ciudad Juárez border recover the hope of returning to the country they served in war after the last words from the White House, which has promised to review the cases.FOOTAGE OF TWO VETERANS IN CIUDAD JUAREZ, MEXICOSOUNDBITES of JOSE FRANCISCO LOPEZ, DEPORTED VETERAN, and IVAN OCON, DEPORTED VETERANTRANSLATIONJOSE - That piece of news was a nice surprise for us, like a miracle to us, we want to see our families in the US, get together, it would be a great pleasure for us, it would bring lot of happiness. Biden is more humane, has a bigger heart than Trump. He was cruel to us, thanks God we can come back. I am a Vietnam veteran, they flew me there.IVAN - Its like waking up from a bad dream that never ends. This news give us a new light for a lot of us who were deported. I have been deported for 5 years but its been 18 years since they forgot about us, we are still fighting to get back to our families, we want to recover those moments and create new ones. I served this nation and I thought I wouldn't be deported, but it happened, they tell you you were useless and they say good luck in Mexico. ITS like getting stabbed in the heart.
