SEAT celebrates its 69 years of history and is participating this year in the 100th edition of the Automobile Barcelona, where it has rolled out its vision of electric mobility with its two new concept cars – the first ever fully electric SEAT el-Born and the SEAT Minimó, a forward-looking approach that aims to become the companion of cities and revolutionise urban mobility. Moreover, CUPRA is also displaying the new CUPRA Formentor, the brand’s own first model, as well as the e-Racer, the first ever fully electric touring racecar.
The new CUPRA e-Racer, brand’s first fully electric racing model, reaches 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, clocks a top speed of over 270 km/h and its engine exceeds 12,000 revs. It is a racing car that works on batteries, but has the power of a vehicle fuelled with petrol.
The covers are off the CUPRA DarkRebel showcar. Created from obsession, it is the maximum provocation of CUPRA design. A sports car that pushes the boundaries of design and performance and questions the way cars will be imagined and created in the future. It’s the physical translation of the first car fully created in CUPRA’s virtual space, for a future generation of drivers.More than 270,000 CUPRA configurations from the CUPRA Tribe, including brand ambassadors like FC Barcelona players like Alexia Putellas, Marc ter Stegen, and the actor Daniel Brühl helped shape the design of the CUPRA DarkRebel showcar. Data collected from the online Hyper Configurator was injected into the final design of the CUPRA DarkRebel showcar, which has now moved from the virtual to the real world with the reveal of the physical version at the IAA in Munich. The result is a 100% electric two-seat sports car with a shooting brake architecture that reflects the passion and disruptive mindset of the CUPRA brand. Incorporating an enigmatic mercury-like exterior liquid body colour, light as a tangible material and heightened attention to sustainability.
Sébastien Loeb, the nine-times World Rally Championship winner, has shared his sensations at the wheel of electric cars such as the CUPRA Tavascan after driving the new SUV during his stay in Sardinia for the Island X Prix, in which he raced with the CUPRA Tavascan XE. Despite deciding not to participate in the championship this year, Seb accepted the challenge proposed by the ABT CUPRA XE Team to take part in these two races.
The CUPRA Tavascan is the first hero of a new era for the challenger brand. Derived directly from the Tavascan showcar unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2019, where it was presented as “the brand’s dream”, it brings the disruptive and unique vision of an all-electric future to the market. The CUPRA Tavascan takes the brand’s electrification journey in a new direction with an exponential impulse to create emotional vehicles that break conventional rules and deliver for a new generation of car lovers. The CUPRA Tavascan brings together a fully electric SUV coupe that merges desirability and instantaneous performance. The SUV coupe embodies CUPRA’s electrified vision while remaining faithful to the 2019 concept car.
