As well as traditional models the CUPRA Born will also be offered under subscription contracts, with a monthly fee that will include the use of the vehicle and other related services. The countdown has begun. But with just a few days to go until the global unveiling of the CUPRA Born, the CUPRA team’s head of design, Jorge Diez, explains its main features and provides some details that have never been revealed before. Its creation has been a great challenge and, as he assures us, a great satisfaction at the same time. “Designing CUPRA’s first 100% electric car has been a dream come true for the team.” Below is how he explains the keys to its design.The balance of its proportions. According to Diez, this is the key to creating emotion in an electric car. And in the CUPRA Born it is defined by two pillars. Firstly, the wheels are spaced far apart to accommodate the batteries. “This enabled us to create a totally occupant-centric design with a very spacious interior” he says. Meanwhile, the proportions have also been worked on to give it a highly sporty look. “This is reflected in an extremely fast A-pillar combined with a long wheelbase and short front and rear overhang, which will make driving the first 100% electric CUPRA truly fun” he adds.

CUPRA reveals the design secret of the CUPRA DarkRebel and makes its vision of the automotive future come true. The concept vehicle embodies the maximum provocation of the CUPRA design language and sets new standards in design and performance. It is the first vehicle designed entirely in CUPRA virtual space for a future generation of drivers.The CUPRA DarkRebel Showcar is the result of more than 270,000 configurations by the CUPRA Tribe, which also includes brand ambassadors such as FC Barcelona players Alexia Putellas, Marc ter Stegen and actor Daniel Brühl. The data collected in the online hyperconfigurator flowed into the final design of the CUPRA DarkRebel show car, which has now found its way from the virtual to the real world with the unveiling of the physical version at the IAA MOBILITY in Munich.The result is an all-electric, two-seat, shooting-brake sports car that reflects the passion and disruptive mindset of the CUPRA brand. Examples of this are a mysterious, mercury-like exterior color, the innovative use of light as a tactile material and a more consistent focus on sustainability.
