Pope asks international community to help Lebanon with actions, not just words

Vatican City, Aug 4 (EFE).- (Camera: Antonello Nusca) Pope Francis held on Wednesday his weekly mass and urged the international community to help Lebanon, hit by the economic crisis.FOOTAGE OF THE MASS.SOUNDBITES OF POPE FRANCIS.TRANSLATION:1- "One year after the terrible explosion in the port of the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, which caused death and destruction, my thoughts go to that beloved country, especially to the victims, their families, the many injured and those who have lost their homes and jobs. Many have lost the will to live."2- "On July 1, together with other Christian religious leaders, we welcomed the aspirations and expectations of the tired and disappointed Lebanese people, and we asked of God for the light of hope to overcome the harsh crisis."3- "I ask the international community to help Lebanon make a path of resurrection with concrete gestures, not just words, and I hope that the current conference promoted by France and the United Nations will be fruitful in this regard."
