UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says he cancelled a meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotakis because his Greek counterpart failed to keep a "commitment" not to publicly dispute ownership of the Parthenon Marbles. An angry Mitsotakis cut short his three-day visit and headed back to Greece, according the Greek leader's office, after the meeting scheduled for Tuesday was pulled. "When it was clear that the purpose of the meeting was not to discuss substantive issues for the future, but rather to grandstand and relitigate issues of the past, it wasn't appropriate," Sunak tells the House of Commons as he addresses a diplomatic row against a backdrop of ownership claims to ancient sculptures on display at the British Museum.
