But German investigators have now revealed they have found traces of explosives aboard a yacht that may have carried the charge that last September knocked out the undersea conduit that supplies Russian gas to Europe via the Baltic Sea.
The plant will use liquefied natural gas from a floating station that is also being built in the area.
A blast that ripped through a section of the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhhorod pipeline has killed three people. The incident occurred in the region of Chuvashia, 700 km east of Moscow, on a pipeline carrying Siberian natural gas towards European markets.
