In Nongoma, South Africa, the Zulu people crown their new king

Description

King Misuzulu kaZwelithini is welcomed as the king of the amaZulu kingdom. The ceremony takes place to announce to the living and the dead, by Zulu tradition, that he is king. As he enters the kraal, his protectors, the amabutho sing and praise him. The ceremony is private to the public world as it contains spiritual and traditional sentiments, but the essence of the day is to praise the new king, and to let know the world of the living, as well as the dead, that there is a leader for the amaZulu nation.
