Flash floods hit Central Australia on Sunday. The park rangers decided to close the park due to the risk of car accidents and flooding. The rangers are continuing to assess the situation every two hours until the park is safe to reopen. The storm was described as "once-in-a-half-century weather" by the Bureau of Meteorology, with two and a half inches of rainfall registered in one hour alone.
