French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday announced a national debate on end-of-life options that will include exploring the possibility of legalizing assisted suicide. Macron's announcement came the day the family of French director Jean-Luc Godard said he died by assisted suicide at his home in the Swiss town of Rolle.
Anna Karina was the goddess of the French New Wave cinema movement. She was the muse of legendary director Jean-Luc Godard and worked with big names such as Luchino Visconti, Jacques Rivette and Rainer Werner Fassbinder. She joins Eve Jackson in the studio.
Jean-Louis Trintignant, one of France's greatest actors, who died on Friday aged 91, was hailed by French President Emmanuel Macron as "a wonderful artistic talent and voice".
